Description: A spider with only six legs? Well, how about insect then. Many of the photos for this set show it along side pieces from some board game, possibly Warhammer, so this mechanical insect could very well be a production piece for the game. Anyone help out with this?

It's a rather nice conversion from a Chaos Defiler - a crab link infernal engine from Warhammer 40K. Looks like all the extraneous skulls and nasty bits have been removed, and a new cabin body has been built to replace the stock kit's turret torso. Looks very much like a pair of hexagonal paint pots with a window added on the front.

Well, that was a pleasant discovery. Always nice to find people like what you make :)

It is indeed a Defiler conversion with all the stupid skulls and symbols removed. The cabin is also made from two (very carefully) cut hexagonal paint pots, good eye.

As for the Spider term, I do keep thinking of renaming it a Steam Scarab...

It almost looks like Warmachine. it's another mini's game, sorta like warhammer, cept EVERYTHING is steampunk in it...long as you don't mind magic as well.

A nice and real machine. A classic small robot creation.
