Steampunk Fairy

Description: I assembled the Steampunk Fairy necklace using new and vintage materials, pocket watch parts, faceted Czech glass beads, brass chain, silverplated wire and brass wire. The fairy centerpiece measures 3 inches across, 1-1/2 inches high. When I created this piece, I had recently finished reading the book Whitechapel Gods by S.M. Peters, and was inspired by the imagery of human beings being caught up in the workings of powerful machines, turning into machines themselves. I’ve been working on this item for several weeks, from inception and the search for just the right parts, through assemblage and completion.
